First try lubing the cable(s) with the aerosol cable lube kit sold by motorcycle shops. Or if you have the time, pull the cable(s), note how they are routed, and then hang the cable(s) and make a paper funnel and pour your choice of lubricant down the funnel until it runs clear out the other end. Personally I use the aerosol kit and do all my cable every spring. Yes there are 2 cables on the Savage, one for the brake and a parallel one that goes to the stop light switch located on the right rear frame upright. Max
